Given that networking is very complex and extensive, we need a device that tests the performance of network cables to detect and identify existing faults. After cabling, a computer network to ensure proper cabling and to make sure the network is working properly and the cables are not cut, the network must be tested with a device. The information that can be obtained from a tester varies according to the type of device, But the most complete information is the probability of cable cut along the route, the length amount and the drop, and so on.
There are many tests on the market, each of which provides us with information according to the manufacturer. All over the world, one of the best types of testing is considered to be a fluke test. In this type of test, in addition to the feasibility study that is performed on the cables, the equipment and connections along the route and the necessary standards are also examined and stored inside the device, and finally, a complete report can be available.
The information that the testers provide us:
1-Precise and complete testing of the physical layer of the network, including cable, keystone socket, patch panel, cable patch
2-Original or inactive verification of passive network equipment including cable, keystone, patch panel, cable patch
3-Extracting the exact length of the cables, reporting defects in the patch and keystone connections
4-Reports of disconnection or poor connection of cable lines to Keystone
5-Noise report and its exact location on the cabling route
6-Excessive traction or bending report and its exact location on the cabling route
7-Report the amount of copper purity used in the network cable, resistance test, and cable conductivity
Types of testers
Network cable tester
Network cable tester usually consists of two parts, transmitter, and separable receiver, for remote testing. Also, some advanced models, in addition to testing the connection of RG45, RG11, and USB sockets, are equipped with a cable pair finder to detect and find a pair of cables that do not have an electric charge.
Finder
This device has been used for times when the cable has not been properly labeled by the cabling group.
