Guyed tower
Guyed towers are grounded by a restraint wire or other support. These types of towers due to their low weight, are used in places where there is enough space. It is often used in mobile, radio, and wireless networks and computer networks. These towers can be installed on the roofs of houses and offices, and in addition to helping the height of the antenna installation, the height of the building has many advantages in urban areas. This type of tower needs a lot of space to install restraint wires if it is installed on the ground. Depending on the size and type of construction, these towers are divided into several categories.
Types of Guyed tower
The letter G in front of the number indicates the base of the restraining tower, for example, in the G35 tower, the distance between the main pipes is 35 cm, and in the G45 tower, this distance is 45 cm. The main body of the tower is made of pipe and rebar and is connected to the ground or other strong support by a wire restraint wire. installing this type of tower usually done manually and with special tools.
Advantages:
Low weight / cheap price / easy installation/possibility of installation on the roofs of houses
Disadvantages:
Occupy a lot of space / Low loading capacity
Self tower:
These towers have 3 or 4 metal bases, the components of which are lattice and are connected by truss members. These types of towers rise on an urban slope and maintain balance without the need for restraint wires relying on the main bases (Leg). In most cases, parts of self-standing towers are made of angle bars, pipes, and channel beam that are connected by bolts and nuts and in some cases by welding. The advantage of a self-standing tower is its high capacity and greater endurance compared to other towers.
This type of tower is made in 2 types of full-angle bar and pipe-angle bar. In the full-angle bar type, all parts and sections of the tower are made of steel angle bars, but in the pipe-angle bar type, the main bases of the tower are of the pipe type and the rest are made of steel angle bars. It is made in two pins of 3 pins and 4 pins. These types of towers are used for relatively high altitudes, high loads on towers, high wind speeds, and in places where there is not enough space to install a guyed tower.
Single-base or monopole towers:
These towers are made with multi-faceted sections. This type of tower is based on a single pile and there is a large anchor at the foot of the tower. The vibration of these towers is more proportional to the rest of the towers. Due to the small space they occupy, these towers are used in urban environments where the land is of high value. Their load-bearing capacity is limited and, in most cases, they are used only for the mobile network. These towers are only installed with cranes.
CCTV tower :
The CCTV tower is a monopole type (single base) and is used to install CCTV cameras to increase the camera’s visibility and reduce unauthorized access, and also to create a suitable viewing angle, and is considered due to the small space they occupy, And it is used in urban environments where land is of great value.
Their carrying capacity is limited and they are only installed with cranes. Therefore, they must be installed in a place where it is possible to move and install with a crane. Depending on its use in different climatic conditions (in terms of wind intensity or being along vibrating routes) and its application in different places, depending on the field of view required and also sometimes according to taste, they are designed and built at different lengths.
It can be made of galvanized or uncoated iron or even aluminum or other alloys can be used under certain conditions.
